The Terracotta Garden Münster

Is it possible to cultivate a Tuscan garden in the middle of a northern German industrial park that attracts people from all over Germany? A garden that is not exactly large in area, but infinitely large in ideas and sources of inspiration? A garden that shows the most beautiful Impruneta terracottas in a variety that can only be found at the place of production itself? Olivia and Dieter Wetter from Münster have not only dreamed of such a garden, they have realized it. And everything that you see there so lushly can be bought. Only the beautiful ideas are free of charge!

Beautiful gardens invigorate the senses, they are balm for the soul, a place of leisure, relaxation and zest for action. In them, people can live out their creativity, because they can be designed in as many ways as there are spots on earth for them.

The Italian gardens are among the most beautiful, and the Mediterranean climate does its best to allow plants to thrive in lush splendour, as we love them so much. Not everyone can live in Tuscany, but you can bring a piece of it into your own home with imagination and the beautiful things from the "Terracotta Garden". Artfully decorated flower pots in all sizes, enchanting bowls, delightful vases or classic amphorae - up to sculptures by the Italian artist Luigi Galligani. And they are all made of a single material. Made of terracotta. But not just any one, but the best. It comes from Impruneta, a small town near Florence. In this region of Italy, the world's most perfect and purest clay can be found and it is considered the origin of the country's millennia-old terracotta tradition. And even today, the potteries there work according to the traditional production methods of 1500 years ago.

It has now been 18 years since Olivia and Dieter Wetter turned their dream of trading in the beautiful things in life into reality. Right next to their parents' carpentry shop, whose art and antiques gallery "Kunst im Speicher" already had a name, the two used the adjacent garden for their ambitious project. And success was not long in coming.

In the meantime, the "Terracotta Garden" looks like Tuscany. Again and again, the Wetters decorate and drape  planters with fragrant flowers or beautifully variegated greenery, supporting their customers in designing their own garden. Boxwood and laurel trees are particularly decorative in the elegant containers, of which there is always a well-stocked selection. The versatile range is complemented by an exquisite selection of Venetian vases made of Murano glass or garden furniture made of high-quality teak.

The Wetter family has created a considerable circle of regular customers in a short time - nationwide. Certainly also because of the unusual service: Because if you want, you can have a selection of pots delivered to your home and choose there in peace what harmonizes best with your individual lifestyle. The Wetters are also happy to advise on planting. And because many customers do not shy away from long distances to take a look at their beloved "Terracotta Garden" to see what's new, things are also a little more familiar here.

With a cappuccino or a glass of Prosecco, you go on a journey of discovery and let yourself be inspired and fascinated by what is on offer. And twice a year, Olivia and Dieter Wetter turn their garden at Kleimannbrücke 57 in Münster's industrial park into an "Italian festival meadow" with Cucina Italiana, wine and music for all loyal customers.
