This is how real Impruneta Terracotta is created
For centuries, the manufactories in Impruneta have been shaping their vessels from the mineral-rich "Terra Turchina". Many pieces are created entirely by hand according to the traditional Colombino technique and thus become unique pieces.

Prepare sound
The special soil from Impruneta is finely ground and carefully kneaded with water.

Shape by hand
In the colombino process, the potter builds the vessel layer by layer from clay beads.

Slow drying
The finished container dries in a controlled manner and loses around ten percent of its size in the process.

Burn at over 1,000 °C
The long firing ensures the typical color, durability and exceptional frost resistance.

Impruneta terracotta for garden, terrace and house
Since 1996, impruneta.de has stood for a large selection of original terracotta from Impruneta. In cooperation with traditional Italian manufactories, we offer handmade planters, flower pots, plant bowls, amphorae, flower boxes, fountains, figurines and garden decorations. The special soil from the region south of Florence and the long firing at high temperatures make genuine Impruneta terracotta particularly resistant and durable.
Lifetime guarantee on frost resistance
Our original Impruneta and Galestro terracotta products are 100 percent frost-resistant if the care instructions are followed. Many sizes and shapes are suitable for garden, balcony and terrace all year round. Our team checks the goods on site and organises safe delivery directly from Italy. The shipping costs are a maximum of 49 euros; from an order value of 600 euros we deliver free of charge.
Handicraft, personal advice and viewings
Each hand-shaped vessel bears the traces of traditional Italian craftsmanship. We advise on the selection of suitable sizes, shapes and series and arrange visits to selected manufactories in Tuscany by appointment. In addition, you will find seasonal items from Baak for home and garden as well as selected bronzes, fountains, lanterns and home accessories.
