Follow the following tips so that you can enjoy your terracotta containers for a long time.

Place the vessel elevated
Place it on terracotta feet or underlay it with wooden strips. This allows water to drain off and prevent waterlogging on the object, figure, pot and plant.

Emptying in winter
In containers, water bowls, fountains, bird baths and saucers, no water must be left standing in frost.

Create drainage
Cover the hole in the ground with a domed clay disc. Fill in expanded clay with a grain size of 8–16 mm and place generously cut garden fleece over it up to the edge. This will keep the drain clear and prevent soil from being washed out.

Use suitable soil
Good potted plant soil improves aeration and helps keep nutrients and water available to the plant.
Drainage in the planter: Pottery shard over the hole in the ground, expanded clay, fleece and potting soil. The container is raised so that water can drain away.
