Westland Smart Repair is ideal for repairing smaller damaged areas in lawns. The selection of particularly robust, durable lawn grass varieties in combination with an effective germ substrate ensures that lawn gaps are closed reliably and quickly, as well as denser green of thinned lawns.
With Aqua-Gel – The unique protective cover
Part of the lawn seeds is surrounded by the Aqua Gel shell, another part by a special blue shell, both of which optimize germination success and growth. How it works:
- Aqua-Gel absorbs up to 400 times its weight in water.
- The stored water is released to the seeds as needed.
- The protective cover prevents the seeds from drying out and thus ensures a very good germination rate.
- The special blue cover promotes germination and growth and reduces bird damage.
Application period
Lawn repair can be carried out throughout the season between April and October. The rainier weeks in spring between April and May or in early autumn from mid-September to mid-October are best suited. It should be noted that optimal germination is only possible from a permanent soil temperature above 10 degrees. Germination takes place after 10-21 days, depending on the weather.
Before use, turn and shake the package several times so that the different grain sections mix well. First, remove dead grasses, moss, weeds and coarse stones from the areas in need of repair. Loosen the soil slightly and level out depressions.
Application
Sprinkle Smart Repair with the spreading aid once crosswise and once lengthwise on the areas to be repaired (application rate approx. 240 g/m²). For a seamless transition to existing lawn, spread the seeds slightly beyond the repair area. Lightly tread treated areas. If thinned lawns are to be provided with denser greenery, it is sufficient to spread approx. 120 g/m² evenly. Lightly roll or tread on the treated areas.
Very important:
Then water the areas carefully but extensively with a fine spray until the germination substrate no longer absorbs water. Never allow treated areas to dry out in the following weeks. Freshly sown lawns should only be mowed from a height of approx. 8 cm, to a maximum of 5 - 6 cm.
Special information for urine-contaminated bald spots:
Before use, water thoroughly several times if possible to rinse out the substances that are harmful to the plant - or replace the soil a few centimetres deep in these areas.
Fertilization:
The starter fertiliser contained in Smart Repair is effective for up to 6 weeks, depending on the weather. Westland Smart & Safe lawn fertiliser should be applied 2 - 3 days after the second cut. This promotes dense turf and lush green.

Storage
Store in a dry, light-free and frost-free container in the sealed original packaging and use within the season of purchase. Close opening packs tightly.
Indications for use
Growing substrate for single use in the open field as part of a reseeding product to repair defects in the lawn. The prerequisite for the effect is sufficient watering. For further information, see package text. Fertilisation of the treated areas is recommended 2 - 3 days after the second mowing. Contains additional lawn seeds. Seed mixture for lawn seed
Composition of the mixture and identification number: See green label. The product contains 20% grass seeds, of which 6% are blue-coated (algae, dye), 6% are grass seeds coated with aqua gel (water-storing polymer, clay) and 8% are non-coated grass seeds. Solid additives: 80% growing medium. The product consists of 800 g growing medium and 200 g lawn seeds (of which 197.3 g pure seeds).
