Westland BIO3 – New soil mixture with 3-fold effect

The Westland New Horizon Universal Vegetable Soil is one of the Westland New Horizon Universal Potting Soilto the innovative soils of Westland. The peat-free BIO3 soil mixture opens up new horizons for the sustainable cultivation of vegetables. The basis of the soil mixture is a specially developed, nutrient-rich organic fibre made from 100% natural ingredients. Together with the already well-known West+ water management system and the water and nutrient-storing Coco+, it forms the best conditions for a good and high-yield vegetable harvest.

The 100% peat-free Westland New Horizon Universal Vegetable Soil not only resembles a peaty soil in feel, but also provides the plants with everything they need for up to six weeks. The micronutrients it contains, as well as the loose structure and rapid nutrient availability, help to increase the vitality and optimal nutrition of the vegetable plants, as well as healthy growth - so that you can enjoy the harvest!

The benefits of Westland Tomato and Vegetable Soil

  • Balanced, peat-based soil
  • Organic soil with 100% natural ingredients
  • West+ water management for even storage and distribution of water
  • High phosphorus content for vigorous growth
  • Pre-fertilized for about 4 weeks

Application

Pricking seedlings

  • Hold seedlings carefully to avoid damage. Carefully pull the roots out of the soil with a wooden stick.
  • For optimal growth, plant the seedlings with sufficient spacing and water regularly until repotting.

We always recommend the use of a special potting soil for sowing.

Repotting

  • Water the plant thoroughly. To remove, lightly tap the pot and remove any loose soil.
  • Place the plant in a new pot with new soil. Fill in the gaps with new soil and firm them up a bit. Then water.

Planting out

  • Dig a hole about twice the depth and diameter of the root ball.
  • Add some new soil to the hole and place the plant in it. Fill in the gaps with new soil and firm it up a bit. Then water the plant.

*Ensuring winter hardiness

In order to enjoy your terracotta containers for a long time, you should consider the following points:

To prevent water from accumulating, you should place the container on terracotta feet or underlay the container with wooden strips. This prevents waterlogging and thus prevents frost damage to the object, figure, pot and plant.

There must be no water in vessels, water bowls, fountains, bird baths, saucers, etc. in winter or frost.

Cover the hole at the bottom with a curved clay disc and make a drainage with expanded clay and a fleece.

In a hardware store or garden centre, you can get expanded clay with a grain size of 8 – 16 mm. Then cover the expanded clay with a generously cut piece of garden fleece up to the edge. This prevents the soil from seeping through and thus clogging the drainage hole. A nice side effect, the terrace is not soiled by the irrigation water.

With a good potted plant soil, you also ensure better aeration of the soil and an optimal combination of nutrients and water. Now your plant can help itself to water as needed.

Hint! In most cases, the insurance covers any damage, e.g. rear-end collisions, storm damage or theft.
